The problem scenario

The growing Enterprise mobility has caused an explosion of mobile devices on our networks. In addition, virtualization has rapidly increased the number of workloads in the data center. It will only keep rising by 50 billion new devices connected to networks, representing a massive increase in potential attack points. With trends like these, it's not surprising that a recent report noted that 90% of surveyed organizations were not fully aware of the devices accessing their networks. This is a problem because how can you secure what you can't see?

CISCO ISE 2.0

the Cisco Identity Services Engine, or ISE, is a security policy management platform uniquely designed to help you see and control what's on your network. This is recognized by industry experts such as Gartner and Froster as the market leader.

ISE 2.0 and the AnyConnect 4.2 Secure Mobility client. With these two releases, Cisco delivered more extraordinary User Experience, Visibility, and Control across the organization's network.

Planning

A usability study will be conducted to evaluate usability of ISE 1.2 Business User workflows (e.g., BYOD, possibly guest/sponsor).

Session Location: Remote via WebEx or In Person if possible

Design Form:Combination of High Fidelity Wireframe, Reference Implementation, Low Fidelity Wireframes and potentiall code

A formative usability study is a research method that evaluates usability of early product designs by asking the product's intended end users to complete tasks using the product design.

Usability issues identified will be assigned severity ratings based on total score (from 3 to 9) of the following:
Impact or consequence to user (1 = low, 2 = medium, 3 = high)
Number of participants who reported issue (1 = less than 30%, 2 = 30% to 60%, 3 = greater than 60%)
Prominence of affected feature (1 = low, 2 = medium, 3 = high)

Mastered in Adobe Flex

Cisco ISE's front end was built with Adobe Flex and Flash ActionScript. Before CISCO, I designed several large enterprise applications with Adobe Flex UI, so barriers to crafting a great experience in Flex were not a problem for me. Flex can provide a great UX out of the box, but it takes a bit more to make a Flex app really shine.

Because of my deep-rooted programming skills (In 2012, I was fluent in all front-end scripting languages), I was eloquent in creating dynamic interactive Flex UI with JSON datasets and Actionscript for logic building. I provided ready-to-use UI to the engineers.
